Choosing to Trust

So, for those of you that know me, I am a bit of a worrier. I worry about A LOT. I worry about little things and I worry about big things. I worry about things I have control over and I worry about things I have no control over. Last night, I was talking to Aaron and I was telling him my worries about something. He looked at me and said, "Karlee, you cannot worry and trust God at the same time." Wow! That really hit home. It is so true. I mean I don't think worry can never cross your mind, but you cannot worry like I do and think about things constantly and still be trusting in God.
Today I am choosing to let go of my worries and just trust in God. He is in ultimate control anyway. What He chooses is going to happen so when even worry about it. Just a thought for those fellow worriers out there with me. Below are some encouraging verses I found.
Worry:
Matthew 6:25 - 27 " Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes. Look at the birds of the air;they do not sow or reap or stow away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"
Trust:
Psalm 56:4 "In God whose word I praise - in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?"
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
John 14:1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me."

Have a happy day! and trust!

  1. Aaron is wise beyond his years! Worry is so pointless but we all do it from time to time. Just as you said, it's a choice to trust in God. Love the scriptures you sited!
