12 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
Week: 12
Fruit/Veggie: Plum

Baby Changes: Our baby's fingers will soon open and close and toes will curl. His/her muscles will clench and mouth will make sucking movement. My baby will even move if I prod my stomach but I wont be able to feel it yet. His/her intestines are protruding into its umbilical cord right now and will move into its abdomin this week. Its kidneys will also start working now. The babys nerve cells are growing rapidly and synapses in our babys brain are forming. It has a human looking face (which we have seen now :) Its eyes and ears are exactly in place now. Our baby is just over 2 inches long and about half an ounce.

Gender: Honestly now, I just want a healthy baby whether boy or girl. I will love whichever we have and this baby is already such a blessing.

Movement: none yet but I sure am ready to feel the baby move!

Food: Im still craving chips and salsa and Mexican is hitting the spot right now :) My goal after spring break though is to find healthy things that I crave for baby and me!

Sleep: I am still sleeping well so far and still a lot. I am not as tired as I was in general as before but if I keep myself busy all day I am wiped at the end of the day.

Symptoms: I am truly blessed. I have not had any major symptoms besides some cramping and sharp pains (stretching). I have felt great and have been able to eat anything. Right now I have gained between 2-4 pounds. It depends on the day and what I ate the day before :) I am right on track for the amount I should be gaining.

News: We are have been thinking of some names. We have a few for each gender that we really like but will probably think more seriously once we know the gender. We will announce our choice once we know for sure what the name is. I have been looking at nursery bedding. Thats hard too because we dont know gender but I have picked out several I like for each. I am excited to be able to start buying clothes, registering, and all that jazz, so I am just ready to know...boy or girl!! :)

What do you think I am having????

See you next week!

Birthday Surprise

Well, my birthday was extra special this year. I had a normal work day at school (kids werent there so that was good). I had to run by wal mart on my way home (at least once a week for me). I decided to get a pregnancy test. I knew in the next few months it would be possible that I would be pregnant. So I got the test and as I was leaving Walmart I thought, I am curious. The test was negative. I thought "Hmm...alright no big deal." I went on my happy way out to my car.

I got into my car and looked in my bag to get something and pulled out the pregnancy test one more time (not sure why) and saw it was in fact positive. "What?? Is that for real??? Oh my word, I think I am pregnant!!" So I continued home and got two more positive test. "I thought, wow I am really pregnant!!"

Aaron was at the church working on some stuff with a student. We were planning on going out to eat that night. He said he would be home about five. Five was way to long from when I got home (about 3:15). I wanted to tell him THEN!!! I had bought a book in December called "Becoming Dad". I knew it was a posibility we would be getting pregnant soon and I wanted a special gift for him when it happened. So I had it wrapped and ready to go whenever that happened. So when he got home I was ready to give it to him.

He first let me get my beautiful new floor lamp for my birthday. I then told him I had something for him. He wasnt sure why :) (watch my video on facebook) He was in shock too!!! (it had been only a month) We then proceeded to my birthday dinner and then told our parents via Skype that night and called our immediate family.

We are expecting our first baby!!! We are so excited and could not be more thrilled! I have been blogging since week 6 and will continue to do so. I will be uploading the last 6 weeks of blogging soon.

We will hopefully find out April 27th what we are having. :) We have said we want a boy, but we both just really want it to be health! I cant wait to meet our little one and share this with all of you!
I am 12 weeks along right now and I am due September 19th! Hope the next 28 weeks fly by! :)

Bye for now!

Choosing to Trust

So, for those of you that know me, I am a bit of a worrier. I worry about A LOT. I worry about little things and I worry about big things. I worry about things I have control over and I worry about things I have no control over. Last night, I was talking to Aaron and I was telling him my worries about something. He looked at me and said, "Karlee, you cannot worry and trust God at the same time." Wow! That really hit home. It is so true. I mean I don't think worry can never cross your mind, but you cannot worry like I do and think about things constantly and still be trusting in God.
Today I am choosing to let go of my worries and just trust in God. He is in ultimate control anyway. What He chooses is going to happen so when even worry about it. Just a thought for those fellow worriers out there with me. Below are some encouraging verses I found.
Worry:
Matthew 6:25 - 27 " Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes. Look at the birds of the air;they do not sow or reap or stow away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"
Trust:
Psalm 56:4 "In God whose word I praise - in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?"
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
John 14:1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me."

Have a happy day! and trust!
